The role

As a Principal Data Scientist, you’ll drive both the science and the engineering behind scalable ML and GenAI systems — developing robust infrastructure, predictive models, and production-grade AI features that transform complex data into actionable insights to unlock commerce growth.

Your Responsibilities

As Principal Data Scientist, you will:

• Own the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of high-impact AI and GenAI features.
• Build robust infrastructure, tools, and frameworks for training, evaluating, and serving ML models at scale.
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product teams to industrialize prototypes into production-ready services.
• Design and optimize MLOps pipelines using Python, FastAPI, and cloud-native stacks (AWS Fargate, Bedrock, ECS) integrated with data platforms such as Snowflake.
• Drive automation, monitoring, and CI/CD practices across the ML lifecycle.
• Review and validate model code, pull requests, and deployment flows, ensuring technical excellence across the AI team.
• Define and align data exchange protocols and architecture with DevOps, Data Engineering, and Backend teams.
• Champion software and ML engineering best practices, reproducibility, and scalability.
• Stay ahead of AI trends, GenAI tools, and infrastructure innovations to guide our long-term strategy.

Your  profile:

• 7+ years of experience delivering ML/AI products, including deployment into production.

• Strong programming skills in Python and experience building production-level code.
• Solid understanding of ML and Deep Learning concepts, from experimentation to MLOps.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS preferred) — Fargate, Bedrock, EC2 — and data platforms such as Snowflake.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker), orchestration (ECS/Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).
• Hands-on exposure to FastAPI, data APIs, and model serving.
• Passion for automation, operational excellence, and MLOps.
• Enthusiasm for Generative AI, including frameworks such as OpenAI, LangChain, Langfuse, or PyTorch.
• (Bonus) Cloud certifications (AWS preferred).
• (Bonus) Experience in AI-driven SaaS or e-commerce environments.
